It was another day in Lorena’s routine; she was in her technic drawing class at UASD listening to her teacher who had always preferred to talk about his life instead of the class. Lorena was a quiet and reserved person, she wouldn’t talk unless it was necessary, that was the reason why she didn’t have many friends, she didn’t care too much about that though.

Once the class was over Lorena headed to the subway to go to her house. While she was waiting for the train to come she saw Luis, one of her classroom partners, Luis turned back once he noticed Lorena was there, pretending not having seen her, to her it was ok, she was used to that.

The train was finally arriving to the station, Lorena took the stuffs she had laid on the floor and waited for the train to stop, but somebody pushed her to the rails just when the train was getting into the station.

Lorena got up, she was on the rails, she looked to her side and the train was right next to her, terrified, she turned her face, covered her head with her arms in a useless attempt to protect herself; seconds later she opened her eyes, looked at the train and noticed that it hadn’t moved, nothing was moving, the time had stopped, she looked down and saw her body lying on the rails, she was outside of her body and her body was about to be crushed by the train, the time had stopped just before the worst.

Despite everything was stopped, somebody approached to Lorena with a weird smile on his face and introduced himself as someone who liked to make deals with people who are about to die. This person proposed to save her, but to save her life she had to choose someone from the people in the subway station to take her place and this person had to be someone she knew.

She wondered if all of that was true, she was scared, everything seemed so unreal, like a nightmare, confused, she tried to see who had pushed her to the rails, she couldn’t see who that person was; aggressively, the man with the weird smiled yelled at her demanding her to choose quickly, she came back to her senses and thought that it was obvious what this man wanted, the only person in the station that she knew was Luis, her class partner.

Nervous, Lorena tried to choose the person who pushed her, but this only infuriated the man who furiously yelled at her reminding her to choose someone she knew, again, she thought, it was obvious what he wanted, Luis was the only option she had, she wonder if that was ok, if it was right, she looked at where Luis was, then she turned to the man and told him something.

The next thing she saw was the train moving again and a crowd running towards the front of the train to see what had happened.

People were screaming, someone had been crushed by the train, someone had just died there. The people were terrified, some were running, some couldn’t move, other puked and a few were taking pictures, then, from among the crowd a young woman was seen walking away from there, with an expression of guilt, and like trying to run away from something, she was continuously whispering something to herself, like if she was trying to convince herself saying:

-He would have done the same, he would have done the same.-
