Carlos Johnson is a black photographer who lives and the city, with his white girlfriend Mary Armitage whom he had 1 year dating. Mary is excited to introduce Carlos to her family. Therefore, she asks him to go to his family’s house who live in Greentown. Before leaving the city, Carlos advises to his friend Daniel where he will be. Being in Greentown, Carlos knows Mary’s brother, Jeremy and their parents, neurosurgeon Dean and hypnotherapist Missy, who makes disconcerting comments about black people.
Dozens of wealthy white people arrived for the Armitages’ annual get-together. They express admiration for Carl’s physique and for black figures such as Tiger Woods. Jim Hudson, a blind art dealer, takes particular interest in Carlo’s photography skills.
Away from the party, Carlos convinces Mary that they should leave because of the stranger things he has seen and admitting he doesn’t feel comfortable. Mary agrees and start looking for the keys to go Home. Mary’s Family try to attack Carlos and there is when he realizes, that his girlfriend family use to kidnap black people to transplants their brains into others’ bodies, granting them preferred physical characteristics; the consciousness of the host remains in the Sunken Place, conscious but powerless. Carlos noticed that even his girlfriend was in the conspiracy and she hadn’t never loved him.
Carlos suddenly gets out and drives away in Jeremy’s car and they start a pursuit in which his girlfriend and her family go behind him. In the pursuit they crash into each other and Mary’s Family die. She gets out the car and goes back to Carlos because all he has caused. Mary tries to kill Carlos that is very wounded, but when she tries to kill him suddenly appears Daniel, Carlo’s friend who had been investigating about all the strange things that he had been said by his friend. Daniel knocks Mary out leaving her on the road, and rescues Carlos going back to the city.
